Never done this before so here goes.
I am looking forward to tomorrow nights SPL games. Aberdeen v Rangers looks pick of the bunch as both teams don’t want to allow Celtic to increase their points advantage.
Anyway – Tonight’s FA Cup – How will these 4 games pan out.
15 minutes in to the matches and the 2 big odds on favorites, Wolves and Brentford are already in front. Not good news for the giant killing ambitions of Shrewsbury and Barnet.
What do we know, Shrewsbury are level. They are not lying down and are making a mockery of their 9/1 odds. Can they stay solid and get a result.
All quiet in the games at present but no surprise that Jurgen Klopp has been asked to explain his post match comments after their draw at West Ham. Is the pressure telling on the Liverpool Manager.
Half an hour in and Brentford are 2 up and this looks done and dusted. Common Barnet give us something to shout about – we all love FA cup shocks.
Shrewsbury go ahead on 39 minutes. Wembley here we come roaring out from the Shrews fans. Expect changes at half time from Wolves. Too many Premiership teams taking the FA Cup for granted. Why wait to half time, Wolves hit back in double quick time. Should be interesting team talks – oh to be a fly on the wall.
Wales have a great International team and boast Premiership clubs in Cardiff and Swansea, but who are Newport County? Are they heading for a tie with Champions City and potentially create the giant killing of the century. Who knows, but they have put Middlesborough in their place on 47 minutes. 1-0 Newport.
The shock is definitely on. Rodney parade will have queues for miles if Newport can hold on, but why not 67 mins gone and they are 2 goals to the good. The FA Cup keeps producing fairy tales.
Wolves go infront against Shrewsbury and 2 quick fire goals in the Brentford game who now lead 3-1 and similarly QPR hit a rapid double to book a place against Watford in the last 16.
Now looks like QPR, Wolves and Brentford will progress aqlong with Newport County unless Middlesborough can recover in last 10 minutes from a 2 goal deficit.
As City go on and try for an unprecedented quadruple, it seems the cup draws and the results continue to be kind to them. They haven’t played a serious opponent yet in any cup competition. Let’s hope Chelsea stepup to the plate in the EFL cup final.
